Women’s Golf Day founder Elisa Gaudet will be attending a specially curated WGD Signature Series event at PGA Frisco on May 30.
This new series reflects the evolution of WGD and provides organisations, tournaments and businesses with tools to activate female audiences by delivering an elevated golf experience for women, regardless of whether they play golf or not.
The event at PGA Frisco is part of WGD’s 10-year anniversary celebrations and takes place at the same venue where the 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be played from June 19-22. The day will start with ‘choose your own adventure’, where women can elect to play a round on The Swing, the 10-hole par-3 course in the PGA District, or take a one-hour lesson at the PGA of America Coaching Center powered by T-Mobile.
Post-golf, women will gather at Ice House for a BBQ-themed brunch and award ceremony, before heading to the Home of the PGA of America for a tour of the HQ and a cocktail hour fireside chat discussing the growth and future of women’s golf with Women’s Golf Day founder Elisa Gaudet, PGA of America Golf Professionals Paige Holland and Trish Holt, GOLF.com Editor and Producer Maddi MacClurg, and COO of Veritex Community Bank LaVonda Renfro. Everyone will receive one ticket to attend the upcoming KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, WGD Ahead hat, swag bag and entered to win a Full Swing KIT Launch Monitor.
“We support organizations that build community through golf,” comments COO of Veritex Bank, LaVonda Renfro, who is part of the fireside chat at the WGD Signature Series event. “The values inherent in golf define our values, and we use the game in a multitude of ways to advance our relationships with both our clients and the community at large. We’re proud to partner with Women’s Golf Day to provide an opportunity for people who have never picked up a club to come along and find out for themselves what a difference this game can make.”
WGD Signature Series events are designed to become part of a long-term business strategy for tournament hosts who are committed to providing more inclusive experience and access to complement their premier golf experiences. By inviting women – of all golfing abilities – to participate in these elevated events, organisations will be showing that their business values women and give women a friendly introduction into the game.
“When I started WGD the main objective was to move beyond talk to action,” comments Gaudet. “For years, people have been saying that we need to get more women into golf. It is the obvious untapped consumer market, and it brings with it family, friends and juniors, but that requires action – in terms of getting women into golf clubs and onto the golf course – and investment. With all the hype around women’s sports, it is still just talk until someone writes a check. The companies that understand that and take action will be the winners and that is where the Signature Series will really help.”
