New Delhi: The Delhi cabinet on Tuesday approved the establishment of Integrated District Project Fund (IDPF) and District Project Fund (DPF), which will facilitate the execution of small but essential development projects without bureaucratic hurdles in 11 districts of the capital. The cabinet, chaired by chief minister Rekha Gupta, also approved the formation of Delhi State Ayush Society to ensure the effective implementation of National Ayush Mission in the capital, and gave its nod to increase the number of data entry operators associated with each MLA from two to four and to raise their monthly remuneration from Rs 15,000 to nearly Rs 25,000.Gupta stated that the establishment of IDPF and DPF was based on the good governance mantra of “perform, reform and transform.” She added that govt aimed to decentralise the system for quicker execution of development projects, and the new funds would help accelerate grassroots-level development across the city.“These funds will support a wide range of projects such as roads, schools, dispensaries and community centres. The scheme aims to identify local needs, plan relevant projects and allocate resources for their execution at the ground level,” the chief minister said in her statement. The projects, including minor repairs of roads, bridges, community centres, public structures, schools, dispensaries, streetlights, CCTV cameras, public toilets, and parks, will be carried out through departments like public works, irrigation and flood control, and MCD.Govt has allocated Rs 53 crore for the scheme. While Rs 20 crore have been earmarked for IDPF, Rs 33 crore have been kept for DPF, which will be equally divided among 11 districts.According to officials, the scheme will be run by a project approval committee, with the district magistrate of the particular district as its chairperson and the additional district magistrate as the member secretary. The sub-divisional magistrate, the block development officer, the senior-most accounts officer, and a representative from the beneficiary department will be other members of the panel. In another decision, the cabinet approved the proposal to increase the number of data entry operators deployed with each MLA to four. Officials said their monthly remuneration had been revised from Rs 15,000 to Rs 24,356 in line with the minimum wages prescribed for clerical and supervisory staff (graduates and above) by the Delhi govt’s labour department.“This step is aimed at strengthening MLA offices to ensure effective handling of public grievances and increasing administrative demands,” said an official.Health minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said a broad range of services and infrastructure would be developed in the Ayush sector under Delhi State Ayush Society. He added that govt was committed to expanding access to Ayush facilities and would actively promote the practice of yoga across the city.
