A house that began as a modest ranch in 1958 has evolved into one of the more unusual residential properties in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Featuring three kitchens, themed bedrooms and an expansive indoor swimming pool, the 5,390-square-foot estate is now on the market for $1.227 million. According to Realtor dot com, which featured the property in a report by Tiffani Sherman published on October 20, 2026, the home has retained much of its distinctive character over the years. Property listings published by local real estate firms, including Beresford Realty’s listing through Seignious & Smith, confirm its size, asking price and unusual layout. Located at 108 Hampton Avenue, the property occupies 1.21 acres in the former Oaks Country Club community. Its combination of midcentury architecture, eclectic interiors and resort-style amenities sets it apart from the newer residential developments emerging in the surrounding area.
A house with three kitchens and distinct personalities
The residence has four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and two half-bathrooms, according to the property listing. Three kitchens are distributed across its living spaces, including a compact bistro-style kitchen serving the upstairs primary suite. The arrangement creates possibilities beyond those of a conventional single-family home. Separate entrances and self-contained living areas could make the property suitable for multigenerational households or potentially multiple short-term rental units, subject to applicable approvals. The interiors reflect the original owners’ eclectic tastes. One bedroom features an African-inspired theme, while another draws on Victorian aesthetics. Decorative details, varied materials and individual room designs give the house a character that differs from the uniformity of many contemporary developments. The current owner purchased the property in 2023 and largely preserved its existing furnishings and décor, according to Realtor dot com. Rather than undertaking a comprehensive modernisation, the owner retained much of the home’s established look.
An indoor pool beneath soaring ceilings
The standout feature is a two-storey, enclosed indoor pool and recreation area measuring approximately 2,423 square feet. Its ceilings rise 31 feet, creating a dramatic space that functions as more than a swimming area. The recreational zone includes room for a pool table, darts and exercise equipment, alongside features such as a swing and slide. A nearby living area and bedroom further integrate the pool complex into the house’s overall layout. The property also has substantial outdoor space, mature trees and brick fencing, with additional structures including a storage shed and a covered, three-bay area. The listing describes the grounds as offering room for outdoor activities and gatherings.
A property with multiple possibilities
Beyond its unusual interiors, the estate offers potential flexibility for a buyer willing to work with its existing layout. The land originally comprised three lots, and the listing indicates that subdivision may be possible, subject to county requirements and approvals. The property is also advertised as a licensed short-term rental, although prospective buyers would need to verify the licence conditions and any restrictions that apply to future use. Some major systems have reportedly received more recent attention, including the roof, pool pump and three HVAC systems. However, the house is being sold largely as is, leaving buyers to decide whether to preserve its existing interiors or introduce their own updates. With its expansive pool room, multiple kitchens and highly individualised décor, the Goose Creek property offers an alternative to the conventional luxury home. Its asking price of $1.227 million reflects not only its size and location but also the unusual combination of features that has made it a distinctive listing in the Charleston-area housing market.
